TNT Express to co-operate in the introduction of parcel terminals in Italy

Leading Polish postal group, Integer.pl Group, has announced plans which involve TNT Express co-operating with the firm in being their logistics partner. This comes to light as it is revealed the Polish company are to introduce the use of TNT’s machines into Italy.

Integer.pl Group’s partnership with TNT Express will see them support new plans for 400 of their “easyPack” branded self-service, automated machines, for both parcel pick-up and drop-off, to be installed within Italy by the end of June this year. The plans are to be extended, with the idea that up to 1,000 machine terminals will be installed by the end of June 2015.

The plan will enable customers using TNT’s services to choose to have their deliveries dropped off at an easyPack machine which is convenient to them, rather than their home or business address. Customers will find these machines installed at over 1,200 TNT outlets and 100 branches throughout Italy.

Managing Director of TNT Express Italy, Tony Jakobsen, has spoken of how this new feature is a “highly innovative solution.” Jakobsen has said: “This will benefit TNT Express by improving the flexibility of our operational processes. The established partnership will also be a valuable solution for the business-to-business market, as it will allow a reduction in the number of administrative staff needed to support shipments.”

Interger.pl Group said the e-commerce within Italy has reached a “very high” level of development. E-commerce sales are to have reached up to 11.3 billion Euros during 2013; this is an increase of up to 18% on the previous year.

Integer.pl Group’s CEO, Rafal Brzoska, has said: “We see great prospects for e-commerce in Italy. The first 400 machines will be deployed on the Apennine Peninsula by the end of June, but this is only the beginning of our expansion. Ultimately we want to run 1,000 easy-Pack machines in the Italian market.
