TNT Express has announced its new Chief Finance Officer; the role is to be taken over by Maarten Jan de Vries, who will succeed the previous holder of the position, Bernard Bot, who has stepped down after nine years with the company.

Bot’s replacement has held various roles at Royal Philips in the past, a company that he initially joined in 1986 as controller of Dutch sales. More recently, the new CFO has included Chief Information Officer and Chief Supply Officer.

Jan de Vries also has previous experience working for Philips Semiconductors and Philips Consumer Electronics of over ten years. In addition to this, he was also included on the board of TP Vision from between 2005 and 2010, a joint partnership between Philips and computer monitor firm TPV Technology. This partnership saw Philips transfer its television business to a standalone company. It was from this venture that Jan de Vries was assigned as TP Vision’s Chief Executive.

The new role at TNT Express will see Jan de Vries taking management control of the company’s developments and expansions in regards to its financial performance.

TNT Express’ CEO, Tex Gunning, has said: “I am really happy that we are able to attract yet again such a high calibre executive for the TNT Express management team.” Gunning also went on to say: “Maarten has relevant functional and international experience and will be a great asset to TNT. His capabilities will be essential in the implementation of the Outlook strategy.”
