DHL Global Forwarding has recently improved its ability to offer cold chain logistics in transporting shipments at frozen or cryogenic temperatures. The service has been specifically designed for customers from the life sciences and healthcare industries with the need for sophisticated logistics solutions. The service is maintained by LifeConEx, DHL’s temperature management specialist in a partnership in Cryoport, a popular provider of complete global frozen shipping services.

David Bang, CEO of LifeConEx, has commented: “By introducing this latest solution in collaboration with Cryoport, we are further strengthening our dedication to the life sciences and healthcare industry. It is specifically designed for customers who require that cryogenic temperature be reliably maintained during storage and transportation of their materials. It also relieves them from more precarious shipping methods such as dry ice o use of hazardous liquid nitrogen.”

The service combines an express delivery speed with Cryoport’s highly developed solution for the transportation of temperature-sensitive products, especially those that are of biological materials which need to be kept in a continuous frozen state. The technology used will provide reliability for those shipments that are particularly fragile, offering temperatures as low as minus 150º Celsius for at least 10 days. Temperature monitoring will be available for customers, in addition to shipment tracking via an online platform.
