IAG Cargo North America is to provide its supporting businesses with next-generation B787 Dreamliner aircraft for two of the company’s key routes within Philadelphia and Calgary. Those shipping between the two airports and IAG Cargo’s hub situated at London Heathrow will have the opportunity to access 14 tonnes on each flight.

Regional Commercial Manager for North America at IAG Cargo, Joe Le Beau, has commented: “The B787’s advanced hold air conditioning makes it ideal for supporting the growing trade in temperature-controlled pharmaceuticals, serviced by IAG Cargo’s Constant Climate product. This capability will be of particular benefit to the growing pharmaceuticals trade on the London-Calgary route.”

The recent announcement marks the latest stage of the airline’s fleet modernisation programme. The programme is due to deploy next-generation aircraft for routes throughout Singapore, Hyderabad and Austin.

Le Beau has also added: “When complete, this will make us one of the best-equipped cargo carriers in the industry and will enable us to further improve the premium products we offer our customers, in particular the strategically important Constant Climate product.”
