DHL Global Forwarding has recently taken part in a successful ocean freight project between Germany and Ghana which saw the parcel delivery company provide machinery and equipment for a family ran construction company, GP Günter Papenburg AG.

DHL helped transport 125 pieces of machinery to Ghana for the construction company, including 15 bulldozers, 20 loaders, 10 excavators, 60 motor graders and 20 tippers, in addition to various spare machinery parts. The deliveries were made over a five month period, with a total of 1,596 tonnes being moved during this time.

Volker Oesau, CEO Middle Europe, DHL Global Forwarding, has commented: “The planning, controlling and coordinating of complex large projects require a highly competent consulting and professional expertise as well as considerable practical experience.” Oesau also added: “We are happy that the company, GP Günter Papenburg AG, entrusts us with this assignment. This confirms our professional competence concerning complex transportation processes around the globe.” The contract between the two companies sees DHL provide the transportation, unpacking and handling of the machinery.
