DPD UK is to invest a staggering £10.2million in six new depots throughout England. The six new facilities are to improve upon existing locations at Dartford, Feltham and Reading, whilst introducing entirely new locations in Lincoln, Liverpool and Radlett.

The investment is due to create over 250 additional jobs at the new facilities, as well as expanding its capacity to handle the “significant increase” in business-to-consumer parcel and package volume.

Delivering 1.6million parcels on a weekly basis, DPD currently employs over 7.000 people within the UK and operates from more than 3,000 vehicles from more than 50 sites.

DPD UK’s Chief Executive Dwain McDonald has commented: “These new depots are part of our on-going expansion, enabling us to increase our capacity and ensure we are always several steps ahead of the competition and the growing demand for our services.” McDonald continued: “Our business has grown rapidly in the last few years due to the popularity of Predict and Follow My Parcel, but this level of investment in brand new locations and larger, purpose built depots make a huge difference in terms of efficiency.”
