It has been announced that the NHS Business Services Authority will extend its contract with DHL by two years, from 2016 to 2018. The extended contract is due to have revised terms and conditions.

The NHS Business Services Authority released a statement last week in which it was said: “These terms include a revised reward structure where DHL will be incentivised to delivery more value to NHS customers and cost savings to the tax payer.” It continued: “A cash releasing savings target of £150million has been agreed for delivery by October 2018 in addition to the £150million target already set for March 2016.”

Director of Change and Commercial Delivery for NHS Business Services Authority, Steven Pink, commented: “This agreement provides a step change in savings delivery for the NHS. We’re really looking forward to working closely with NHS Customers, Suppliers and DHL to secure the £300million savings target.”
