TNT is introducing a new road connection to Georgia, in the Caucasus region. TNT will be the first express delivery service provider to offer economy service to and from the country, according to their own statement. This connection will help to reduce transit times to Moscow by up to 48 hours.

The new link will connect Tbilisi, Georgia’s capital, to TNT’s European Road Network (ERN), via Istanbul, Turkey. The service will be for parcels and palletised freight, allowing larger and heavier items—up to 30 square metres and 1,000kg per piece on a pallet. It will be an alternative to air express services.

TNT previously had to connect to Russia via Turku, Finland, its northernmost European hub, which they will continue to use for deliveries from Scandinavia. They will also be connecting to Russia via their Warsaw hub.
