Uber launch UberRush, same-day delivery service

Uber have launched UberRush, their new same-day delivery service. It competes directly with similar services run by delivery giants FedFex and UPS.

UberRush uses Uber’s logistics network of more than 200,000 drivers to deliver goods and packages. The service currently operates in the cities of New York, Chicago and San Francisco.

While some have viewed UberRush as a potential threat to FedEx and UPS, others, including the Wall Street Journal, point out that the service focuses on quick, same-day deliveries, which is only a small part of the business conducted by FedEx and UPS.

At the moment it is also limited to small geographical areas.
