More about containerised ocean freight services (Part 2)
As well as helping with the other arrangements, the freight forwarder can also organise it so that the consignee pays for the cost of transportation as well as the goods. Having the option of choosing whether the bill and any charges are settled by the consignee or the shipper makes things a lot easier.
The various types of services you can choose with ocean freight are as follows:
Full container loads (FCL)
When you book through an independent agent, you can benefit from a number of incentives, including the ability to choose the line.
Part container loads (LCL)
The costs of ocean freight can be minimised by the agent as they have access to pre-booked consolidation services.
Roll on – roll off (RO-RO)
Some of the destinations are served by these vessels, which are usually a cheaper way of transporting vehicles and goods.
Facilities are also available for car and freight loading containers, so be sure to mention this in your enquiry.
