How to package less straightforward items
Now we will be looking at how to pack items which are more unusual or which require a bit more planning.
If you have to send liquids, then ensure they are stored in a leak-free container. This needs to be packaged with s strong but lightweight internal material like Styrofoam. It should also be sealed with a plastic bag.
Semi-liquids and substances with a strong smell need to be sealed with adhesive tape and then wrapped in grease-resistant paper.
Strong plastic bags can be used for powders and fine grains, where they then need to be sealed securely and packed in a fibreboard box which offers rigidity.
Blueprints, maps and rolled plans should really be packed in triangular tubes rather than the round types frequently used.
If you are ever required to ship items which are sharp, the edges and points should be fully protected with something like heavy cardboard. Make sure that the protective material is fixed securely so it does not get accidentally removed during the delivery process.
