Courier announces two new UK returns services


The first of these new services is UPS Returns Exchange which focuses on the effective delivery and pick-up of items being returned. In practice, this means that the original item will be picked up by the same driver delivering the replacement product. The two deliveries are to be linked through the online tracking system. This now means that the transaction can be better monitored and label numbers no longer have to be cross-referenced.

As well as the option above, UPS will also be rolling out their Returns Pack and Collect service. With this, there are three box types that can be chosen for the collection and return of items. When the driver goes to collect the item, the box and return label will be delivered at the same time, where they will also help with the packaging.

UPS are proud of these services as in addition to being more efficient, they are also better for the environment. Waste is reduced as only one trip needs to be made and only one set of package is required.

Vice president of marketing at UPS Europe, Nick Basford, said:

"These services increase customer satisfaction by providing the rapid replacement or easy return of an item. The costs associated with unwanted or defective inventory can be high. Getting items returned, repaired and back on sale quickly can be an effective way to improve a company's bottom line."
