New US shipping alternative to using courier giants

The parcel delivery services from newcomer EquaShip are aimed at beating its competitors in terms of price. It hopes that its straightforward pricing structure and uncomplicated shipping insurance will entice those who usually go to the logistics giants mentioned above.

EquaShip will be charging their customers according to the weight of their parcel and the distance to the delivery destination. After this, there will be no surcharges added on. Everyone will be asked to pay the same rate, no matter the volume of the items being shipped.

EquaShip CEO and founder, Ron Wiener, said:

“We can handle hundreds of thousands of packages in the first month. Millions probably by the second month.

“The good news about launching this late in the year is that we’re not going to stress the capacities of our carrier, because their business doubles this time of year.”

Third party couriers like the United States Postal Service will still be used for the shipping of goods, but the company still has plenty of work to do if it wants to take on the big firms, which can call on a global workforce in their parcel delivery.
