DHL named again as logistics partner of Mumbai Marathon
This means that the logistics giant will be expected to handle all of the shipping requirements when it comes to bringing in the sports clothing and equipment that the athletes will need for the event, due to take place on 15 January 2012.
They will also be responsible for bringing across the broadcasting equipment from various countries including Japan, Netherlands and the United Kingdom. On the final race day, more than seven tonnes of shipments will have to be imported by DHL.
As well as providing support in the form of logistics, the company will also putting forward around 2,000 members of staff and their families to run in the half marathon and dream run.
