Specialist pharmaceutical transport service introduced by TNT Express

TNT Express envisages that this delivery method would be ideal for the transport of sensitive medical shipments such as insulin and vaccines.

Every route where TNT makes use of its own aircraft will offer PharmaSafe as the company hopes to compete against the likes of UPS, FedEx and DHL in gaining custom from those in the international healthcare industry.

Their rivals have already introduced such specialist shipping services over the past few months and so TNT Express is looking to the future of air shipment in this area.

The global manager for industry solutions healthcare at the international courier, Gert de Gier, said:

"Our customers’ temperature sensitive shipments never change hands. TNT acts as one partner, using its own networks and operations from end-to-end."

TNT has revealed that the German-made a|MINUS'MINUS|tainer container will be used to maintain temperatures during the transportation process. Controlling temperatures for over 120 hours can be achieved without requiring a supply of dry ice or an external supply of power.
