DHL chosen as logistics provider for Denmarks EU Presidency

The Presidency of the European Union term, lasting for six months, will allow the Danish government the opportunity to work with DHL to provide sustainable GoGreen road services.

This carbon neutral transportation will reduce the impact on the environment for the duration of the term.

DHL has already worked with the Danish government in the past by providing its support three years ago at the 2009 UN Climate Change Conference held in Copenhagen.

As part of the initiative to “GoGreen” all of the carbon emissions generated due to the global shipping requirements of the EU Presidency will be offset by the worldwide delivery company through its carbon credits which go towards projects that help the environment.

CEO of Deutsche Post DHL, Frank Appel, said:

“It is a great honour for us to provide our environmentally friendly services to the Danish ministries. We are convinced that our GoGreen products are a perfect match to support the presidency to reach their sustainability goals.”

Event sustainability has been taken very seriously by the Danish government and as many EU meetings will have to be planned for, it has chosen its logistics partner very carefully.
