FedEx Express expands air network
Flights will run five times a week, providing a major improvement for customers in Asia and the Middle East. Leaving Guangzhou, in southern China, the plane will travel to Dubai via Mumbai. The return leg includes a stop at Delhi instead of Mumbai.
Explaining the reasoning, FedEx Express’s president of Asia Pacific, David Cunningham Junior, said that the expansion was in response to the fact that the two regions are among the fastest-growing markets in the world. Both should see their economies outpacing average growth worldwide. Boeing world Air Cargo forecasts 4.7 per cent expansion over the next 20 years in the Asia Pacific region and 4.1 per cent growth in the Middle East.
FedEx has also brought in several other enhancements recently which should benefit its Asian customers. These include the addition of the Extra Large Pak for large shipments and expanded International Economy and International Economy Freight shipping services.
