DHL Express increases logistics operations in Newport
A five year lease has been agreed for the facility at the Tregwilym Road Industrial Estate located on the outskirts of the Rogerstone area.
Cardiff-based surveyors DTZ were named as the company handling this transaction on behalf of the shipping giants.
The parcel delivery firm believe that this investment was worthwhile due to the fact the unit is located in a popular business district, with close links to the M4 Motorway as well as other transport networks.
Director of infrastructure & engineering at DHL Express, Ben Hiles, said:
"This investment will enable us to develop our offering to our customers and strengthen our logistics network in the Newport area. With this increased capacity we can provide additional support to businesses of all sizes in South Wales looking to send shipments internationally."
In other company news, DHL with its partner B&Q have opened a new distribution centre in Swindon to get ready for the big summer season. From this site, managed by the international courier, the DIY specialists will be able to service the whole of the UK.
