New Brisbane Airport facility on DHLs agenda
These purpose-built premises, to be developed by Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC), will include offices as well as a processing gateway for the shipping provider.
This announcement is all part of a 10-year plan for DHL to expand their services in the Australian state of Queensland.
A 10-year deal has been put in place for use of this facility which will be based in the Da Vinci Precinct area.
It is expected that outbound processing will be increased by 10-15 per cent due to the high-speed technology being utilised here.
Over 100 DHL employees will initially be housed in the offices at the facility, with further room for expansion.
DHL Express, Senior Vice President Oceania, Gary Edstein, said of the strategic move to focus on the regional capital:
“Businesses in Brisbane are dynamic, varying from farming to fashion. Coupled with Brisbane’s potential as a gateway to assist with the growth in Papua New Guinea and our strong relationships with Brisbane Airport Corporation, we are looking forward to the years ahead with great confidence for the region.”
