New DHL Express facilities opened in Toronto

This move comes as the business looks to bring its warehouse operations and office unit into a centralised location, so that operations are streamlined, allowing for further growth in this country.

A new 100,000 sq ft warehouse has been built in addition to 34,000 sq ft of office space. This is instead of the three facilities which were previously in place to support the Toronto market.

President of DHL Express Canada, Greg Hewitt, said:

"The consolidation is the next step in continuing to expand our international services, increase routes and better serve the growing base of global customers looking to do business in Canada and around the world. Additionally, all of our Toronto-based employees in both operations and corporate functions now will be housed in a single facility which will unify our corporate culture and allow our teams to better work together, benefiting both our employees and our customers."

Costs will be reduced due to the opening of this new centre as the upgrade has allowed the DHL team here to meet international standards in terms of their operating procedures.
