General Information for Argentina

Customs regulations apply for international destinations. Please refer to our Customs Information.

  • The receiver's VAT/Tax ID number (CUIT or CUIL or CDI in Argentina) is required for clearance of goods into Argentina. Please ensure that you include it during booking. Shipments without this information will not be cleared by Customs and will be transited to a general cargo warehouse rather than delivered door-to-door, incurring delays and additional costs. Shipments not cleared from the warehouse within 30 days will be returned to sender, which will take up to 90 days.
  • Personal Effects will be subject to formal clearance and must be cleared by the owner of the goods/luggage in a customs office in Buenos Aires. The shipment must be consigned to the owner of the goods (not to a company or a third party). The receiver must show their passport to customs to confirm the shipment is consigned to them and the date of entry in the country. The receiver must pay all applicable fees for formal clearance: paperwork turnover fee and storage.
