UberRUSH on-demand parcel delivery service is shutting down

Uber is closing down UberRUSH, its on-demand parcel delivery service for merchants. The service will end on June 30th 2018.

The courier service provided deliveries on request for items of less than 30 pounds, except for dangerous or restricted goods such as alcohol, animals and weapons. It mirrored Uber’s flagship service by connecting customers to services via its app, only with couriers rather than taxis.

In April last year, however, it stopped providing these services for restaurants, trying to redirect the business to UberEATS, its food delivery service.

UberRUSH will be closing its doors in New York, San Francisco and Chicago.
