Deutsche Post DHL has recently announced a new strategy in which target will be aimed towards growing markets and the global e-commerce boom over the next five years. The company revealed the name of the strategy will be Strategy 2020: Focus. Connect. Grow, being a replacement of the previous Strategy 2015.

Deutsche Post’s Chief Executive, Frank Appel, has said this new strategy will be their “next big growth stage” in providing new opportunity in an “ever-changing environment.” The company said its main attention will continue to be aimed towards organic growth. Appel also said: “Our aspiration is to be the leading force in the logistics industry by 2020 and the company that defines logistics.”

Deutsche Post executives anticipate an 8% growth in revenue from 2013 to 2020, derived from the 2.86 million Euro pre-tax earnings made in 2013. The company has made promises to pay out up to 60% of consolidated net profit in dividends to its shareholders in regards to the new strategy.

Appel also has said: “Over the past several years we have demonstrated what we are capable of. Now we will accelerate our organic growth and continue to pursue a clear vision: we want Deutsche Post DHL to be not only the most global company in our industry, but also the clear leader in quality and customer orientation.”
