UPS has recently announced its plans to introduce more convenient offerings for its online retail customers and consumers within the UK by providing them with the opportunity to ship goods ordered online directly to a UPS Access Point location as an alternative to home delivery. This service will initially be available for parcel delivery to France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK.

The newly introduced system will provide UK consumers with the chance to have their UPS parcels re-directed to a UPS Access Point location, enabling them to pick up their shipments in their own time and eliminating having to wait at home for delivery.

The service will also allow consumers to be able to drop-off their labelled and pre-paid UPS parcels, including those that are return packages. When dropped off, the parcels are safely stored within the UPS Access Point location and collected the same or next working day by UPS, depending what time the package is dropped off.

Director of Sales UPS UK, Paul Marks, has said: “This additional service addresses the results of our 2013 Pulse of the Online Shopper survey in which consumers indicated that they want more control over when and where their purchases are delivered, and a convenient returns process.” Marks also added: “Additionally, it contributes to our sustainability efforts by reducing the number of return trips a driver needs to make to an address, which lowers carbon emissions.”

The UPS Access Point service is currently available throughout 2,600 locations within the UK. Take advantage of this service for your UK to UK parcel deliveries – click here to find out more.
