DHL Freight has recently expanded its service levels to allow for groupage shipments for the trade lane between Sweden, Czech Republic and Austria. Carog is expected to leave DHL’s freight facility situated in Helsingborg, Sweden, arriving the next day in Brno, Czech Republic and reaching Vienna, Austria in the hours after. Due to fixed scheduling, daily departures from the hubs improved from five to now just three days.

Amadou Diallo, CEO of DHL Freight, has commented: “We have modified this trade lane to address market requirements and our customers’ need for faster deliveries. The highly reliable and now improved door-to-door lead times will allow our customers to improve their production cycles and reduce internal inventory and fixed costs.”

Consolidated cargo for those shipping to or from Hungary and Slovakia means customers can benefit from improved lead times of up to two days. For shipments arriving in Brno and Vienna, customers will be able receive their goods the following day.

CEO for DHL Freight Sweden and Nordics Peter Hesslin has said: “We have been great interest in this line, particularly from small and medium-sized enterprises across all industries. Germany is still the most important export destination for Swedish customers. Hesslin continued: “But with change in the production cycles and the improved supply chains, other markets become more and more important too.”
