UPS has recently launched a trade consulting service as part of its customs brokerage offering for Asia. The new Trade Management Services (TMS) includes trade consulting and import and export technologies, with UPS also saying it is aimed at helping customers in the Asia Pacific region.

The new service will firstly be provided by a team located in Singapore which provides technological support and customs brokerage assistance for intra-Asia and global commerce.

The new consulting service will see UPS working with its customers to improve competitive trade advantages, in addition to assessing compliance, security an administrative issues that may influence a company’s performance.

Nando Cesarone, President of UPS Asia Pacific Region, commented: “The launch of TMS is part of a long-term strategy to help our customers compete and do cross-border business more effectively. Increasing supply chain and regulatory complexities are barriers to trade, and are driving renewed focus on trade management and compliance.”
