Major air carriers Delta, United Airlines and American Airlines have banned the transport of "exotic" hunting trophies on ethical grounds. The ban applies to lions, leopards, elephants, rhinoceroses and buffalo.

The embargo from these three American airlines is significant because American citizens easily make up the largest contingent of hunters. The ever-growing list of other airlines that have now banned hunting trophies includes British Airways, Lufthansa, Air Canada, Emirates, Qatar and Virgin Atlantic.

At this time, other companies such as UPS and FedEx will still transport dead animal trophies. According to UPS, this is because their policy is to comply only with international law.
