The US Airforwarders Association (AfA), which represents 360 air forwarding companies, is celebrating the conclusion of the Transpacific Partnership Agreement, which aims to lower tariffs, improve customs clearance, and make the supply chain more efficient. It also seeks to ensure a more level playing field for business competition.

The Transpacific Partnership Agreement is on the verge of becoming the world’s largest regional trade agreement, involving the US, Japan and 10 other Pacific Rim nations. The agreement now awaits approval from the US Senate.

If approved, the agreement will apply to roughly 40% of the global marketplace, increasing the flow of goods in the region and serving some of the world’s fastest growing economies.
