Air Partner and TNT Romania have delivered a cargo of 445 Romanian artefacts to China, for an exhibition at the National Museum of China in Beijing.

The cargo was transported by a B777 freighter, from Bucharest Otopeni airport. The nature of the cargo meant that security and customs clearance had to be acquired through diplomatic channels.

According to Ciprian Popescu, special services manager for TNT Romania, the delivery proved more of a logistical challenge than anticipated, but with thorough planning the delivery went ahead without a hitch.

The artefacts date from the prehistoric times through to the 18th century. They include mural paintings, ceramics, glassworks, textiles and manuscripts. The ‘Treasures of Romania’ exhibition is also being loaned artefacts from other Romanian museums.
