Parcel delivery company UPS has recently been recognised by Green Freight Europe (GFE) for its efforts in reporting and reducing emissions. German company, Deutsche Bahn (DB) Schenker is to sought $3.3 billion in damages from air cargo suppliers which have been found guilty by the Department of Justice and the European Commission for operating a global price fixing cartel. DPD UK has now completed construction of its new £100million hub facility located in Hinckley, Leicestershire. The company has said its completed construction ahead of its original schedule, meaning work is now underway in regards to interior fittings. The facility is said to be fully operational by September 2015. TNT is to launch a freighter service between Venice and its Liege air hub situated in Belgium. British International Freight Association (BIFA) has released a warning to say a severe lack of truck drivers could cause problems with deliveries during the Christmas period. DHL’s largest facility within Leipzig, Germany continues to grow following its first construction phase. The DHL European Hub has recently seen completion with the first shipment sorting operations now being ready. UPS has announced it is to add three new UPS training centres in Dallas, Phoenix, and Portland, Ore within the USA. The new training centres will provide UPS drivers with experiential training.
