DPD UK has revealed its plans to introduce its own network of parcel shops with operations beginning on June 1st 2015. The parcel delivery firm is to introduce DPD PickUp which will see online shoppers being able to have purchases delivered to their local DPD PickUp point. Deutsche Post DHL has recently revealed its plans to create thousands of new job positions over the forthcoming years. As sustainable growth within the parcel sector increases, the company is expecting a demand for labor equivalent of as many as 10,000 new job positions by the year 2020 in the parcel delivery sector. Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) has recently agreed to partner up with DHL’s air network within the US for a further four more years. The deal sees the extension lease 13 Boeing 767 aircrafts for DHL and its air network until March of 2019. UPS has recently increased three of its facilities within Germany and the Netherlands. DPD UK has now completed construction of its new £100million hub facility located in Hinckley, Leicestershire. DHL’s largest facility within Leipzig, Germany continues to grow following its first construction phase. The DHL European Hub has recently seen completion with the first shipment sorting operations now being ready.
