It has been reported that Air China Cargo, China Cargo Airlines and China Southern Cargo are due to merge together to form Asia’s largest airfreight carrier. DHL Global Fowarding has recently appointed Thomas Tieber as its new chief executive for ASEAN and South Asia. Starting earlier this month, Tieber took on the role having previous experience in managing the business in Thailand, as well as looking after operations in Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. UPS recently announced its plans to build a new healthcare distribution facility in Roermond, the Netherlands. The new facility is expected to be 28,000 square metres in size to take growing demand into consideration. TNT is due to introduce seven brand new 3.5 tonne electric delivery vehicles in and around Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
