DPD Germany has recently announced that it will be converting the lighting of 33 of its depots to use energy efficient LED systems. The parcel delivery company has said the investment is to cost them 800,000 Euros, and will see its carbon dioxide emissions reduce by approximately 1,700 tonnes per year. Deutsche Post DHL has recently revealed its plans to invest 114 million Euros in its hub located at Brussels Airport. The company is rumoured to be building a new facility which will include a 31,500 square metre sorting centre and 5,000 square metres of office space. US parcel delivery company UPS is expected to move more than 110 million flowers throughout the US in the run up to Valentine’s Day.
