The freight forwarder, NYK, recently helped with the transport of a monument for the Japanese victims of last year’s Christchurch earthquake.

Two monuments were produced to commemorate the 2011 New Zealand earthquakes. Both stand of wooden bases made from the kahikatea tree. In Māori mythology, this tree is a regarded as a symbol for human bonds and mutual support, especially in sad times of life. One of the two monuments was installed in Christchurch, the other arrived on 8th June at the Toyama College.
