Freighter Qatar Airways not to place any orders at Farnborough
- On Sunday, Qatar Airways announced that it will not place any further orders at next month’s air show in Farnborough.
Apparently, the Arabian air freight carrier and internationally renowned airline possesses “too many airplanes”. “There will be no more orders”, said Chief Executive Akbar al Baker.
Instead, the airline is planning on converting an approximate number of 20 of its Airbus Air 330 passenger jets into air freighters. Last year, Qatar Airways purchased a 35 percent stake in Cargolux Airlines International CLUX.UL.
