Surcharges

Surcharge Description	Fee
Remote Area Charge Applied when the delivery location is defined as remote. Please check the list of out-of-area postcodes (PDF) to see if your delivery address will be affected.	£0.38 per kg, with a minimum of £15 per shipment and a maximum of £100. Plus fuel (see Fuel Surcharge). This will be added at time of booking.
Additional Handling (Weight) Applies to a shipment containing any parcel, item, box, or package that has an actual weight greater than 31kg (but less than 68kg). This does not apply to an item, box, or package on a standard pallet.	£10.20 per consignment, plus fuel (see Fuel Surcharge)
Additional Handling (Packaging) This charge applies if your item: >is not fully encased in an outer shipping container or packaging; >is encased in an outer shipping container or packaging not made of corrugated fibreboard (cardboard) materials, including but not limited to metal, wood, canvas, leather, hard plastic, soft plastic, or expanded polystyrene foam (e.g., Styrofoam) >is encased in an outer shipping container or packaging covered in shrink wrap or stretch wrap >is round or cylindrical, including (without limitation) mailing tubes, cans, buckets, barrels, tires, drums, or pails >is bound with metal, plastic, or cloth banding, or has wheels (e.g., a bicycle), casters, handles, or straps, including packages where the outer surface area is loosely wrapped, or where the contents protrude outside the surface area >could become entangled in, or cause damage to other packages or our sortation system	£20.40 per consignment, plus fuel (see Fuel Surcharge)
Additional Handling (Non-Conveyable) Applies if the weight is up to 30kg, and if the longest dimension exceeds 120cm OR the second longest dimension exceeds 60cm.	£22.25 per consignment, plus fuel (see Fuel Surcharge)
Additional Handling (Exceeds Dimensions) Applies if the weight is more than 30kg, and: >TNT Express - if either the length or width exceed 120cm. >TNT Economy Express - if the longest dimension exceeds 240cm OR the second longest dimension exceeds 120cm.	£31.15 per consignment, plus fuel (see Fuel Surcharge)
Non-Stackable Piece Applied when any piece in a shipment cannot be stacked due to the shape or packaging of the goods, or if any side exceeds 200cm.	£89.27 per consignment, plus fuel (see Fuel Surcharge)
Return to Shipper This charge will apply for shipments that have not left the UK: >If, as the sender, you request that the shipment is returned to you. >If the shipment cannot be exported due to incorrect or incomplete paperwork, and after several attempts to contact you TNT is unable to complete the paperwork and has to return the shipment.	£15 if returned from a depot £25 if returned from a hub
Return Charge A surcharge applied for all returns in addition to the shipping cost.	£21 per consignment
Fuel Surcharge A fee charged by TNT that covers the fluctuating cost of fuel. It is included in our prices and added on to some other surcharges as a percentage (where noted above). It varies depending on whether the service is express/air or standard/road. Fuel surcharges are updated regularly.	Please refer to the latest fuel surcharges

What if multiple Additional Handling surcharges apply to my shipment? Only one surcharge will be applied based on this hierarchy: (1) Exceeds Dimensions; (2) Non-Conveyable; (3) AHS-Packaging, and (4) AHS-Weight. Please note that Non-Stackable always applies in addition to aforementioned surcharges, if shipment is in scope of the non-stackable definition.

Volumetric Weight

Volumetric weight is calculated using a divisor of 5000 for TNT Express and 4000 for TNT Economy Express. How volumetric weight is calculated.

TNT does not collect from, or deliver, to exhibitions
