FedEx has opened a new flight route between Hanoi, Vietnam, and its FedEx Express hub in Guangzhou, China.
The route will dramatically improve transit times for all inbound flights to Hanoi, and in particular flights between Vietnam and Europe, as well as enabling next day delivery within the Asia Pacific region. A Boeing B757 will fly to and from Hanoi four times a week.
“FedEx Express is always looking for ways to optimize and adjust its existing operations and air network in response to the changing market and customer demand in the region,” Karen Reddington, President of FedEx Express Asia Pacific, said to Logistics Management.
“Vietnam’s economy is growing. We recognize its potential and are committed to growing our footprint and portfolio of services into and out of Hanoi, providing both importers and exporters in Vietnam better and faster access to global markets.”
Vietnam is now the EU’s second biggest trading partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), behind only Singapore. The two blocs are in the process of finalising a trade and investment agreement to further improve trade links.
