DPD Germany has now introduced Saturday deliveries as a standard option for around 90% of the German population which will include both cities and rural areas.
The following months will see DPD extend the offering to the whole of Germany, improving the convenience of parcel delivery for its customers. The parcel delivery company is primarily looking to double its market share to 15% by the year 2020.
DPD Germany’s Chief Executive, Boris Winklemann, has said: “The successful introduction of Saturday delivery completes our offer when sending parcels to private recipients. For many, BC2 mail order delivery on Saturday is essential - not only as a reliable service, but as a standard for all. As a result DPD is opening up further growth potential in the B2C market.”
Previously to this, Saturday deliveries were available as a premium express service only.
