DHL Global Forwarding, which provides freight forwarding services in Europe and Asia, has appointed Charles Kaufmann as their new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for North Asia. He will be responsible for market operations in Mongolia, Taiwan, North Korea and South Korea.
Kaufmann has spent more than 40 years in the logistics industry in a range of executive roles, including CEO for Japan and Korea in 2006 and, most recently, Senior Vice President for Operations and Value Added Services in the Asia Pacific region.
According to DHL, freight is thriving in North Asia, where industries range from primary producers to manufacturers of highly sophisticated technology. Mongolia is a rapidly emerging market, while South Korea and Taiwan are reported to have achieved unprecedented levels of growth in the last year.
