DHL Express appoints new CEO for Sub-Saharan Africa

DHL has appointed Hennie Heymans as its CEO of DHL Express Sub-Saharan Africa. Heymans was previously Managing Director of the same region.

Sub-Saharan Africa is no small responsibility, with 51 countries and territories. DHL has over 3,500 employees, 250 facilities and five regional hubs in the region, as well as 14 dedicated aircraft.

Heymans joined DHL Express in 2001 and the company has seen major development under his aegis, according to Ken Allen, Global CEO of DHL Express. The Sub-Saharan Africa region is expected to be an important part of DHL Express' growth strategy in the future, as the African market continues its turnaround of the past 40 years.
