DHL releases study on fair and responsible business practices

The DHL Trend Research team has released a new study entitled Fair and Responsible Logistics, which analyses "fair and responsible business practices".

The idea is to improve transparency across the supply chain, according to Dr Markus Kückelhaus, Vice President of Innovation and Trend Research for DHL Customer Solutions and Innovation, with the aim of generating social and environmental good while continuing to increase profits.

The study explores initiatives such as recycling-friendly warehouses that would reduce waste, delivery trucks that are more adjustable to carry recycling on return journeys, bio-degradable packaging solutions, and reusable containers.

Fair production and trade could also be promoted, according to the DHL study, if logistics providers leveraged their global reach and expertise to support companies around the world.
