DHL has moved into a new service centre in Memphis, adjacent to the Memphis International Airport (MEM). The new facility, which will serve the tri-state area of Mississipi, Arkansas and Tennessee, measures 30,000 square feet.

The new centre boasts much greater floorspace than the former facility of 11,000 square feet, and will be able to process 2,500 shipments per hour, including international small parcel shipments and palletised and container freight.

Its proximity to the airport will allow for more efficient processes, according to DHL. It will feature a large customer counter, expanded parking space, and dozens of pick-up and delivery vehicles fuelled by clean propane autogas.

The new centre was a $2.5 million investment, which DHL says was driven by the company’s current and forecasted shipment growth, bolstered by local business and e-commerce shipping.
