DHL plans to increase its head count in India by 15% in order to take on rivals Amazon and Flipkart.
Between DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, DHL Supply Chain and Blue Dart Aviation, DHL has about 21,000 employees in India, following a 25% increase in its workforce over the last two years.
According to Melanie Kreis, a member of DHL’s management board, the company is investing heavily in its infrastructure and people in order to compete more effectively in a dynamic labour market.
