Last week FedEx loaded a plane with water, generators, and medical supplies worth $11 million, which were delivered to victims of Hurricane Irma in Florida and the Caribbean.

The supplies included 4,000 hygiene kits and emergency medical backpacks donated by the Direct Relief and Heart to Heart charities.

“Many of [the victims] have lost their homes,” said David Bronczek, FedEx President and COO. “We are sending generators to our own employees.”

The entire crew of the plane was comprised of volunteers, including the pilot and co-pilot.

The Caribbean and United States have been battered by multiple devastating hurricanes this season: Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria have between them caused huge destruction in Texas, Florida, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and more.

In addition to the cargo delivery, FedEx has donated $2 million to hurricane relief efforts in the United States.
