VARD secures million dollar contract with Norwegian shipping company

Vard Holdings Limited (VARD) has announced it has recently secured a $133million contract for the design and construction of an Offshore Construction and Anchor Handling Vessel for Norwegian fishing and supply shipping company, Rem Offshore. The new vessel will feature the VARD 2 06 design, having been recently introduced by Vard Design within Norway.

The new vessel will be specifically designed with the intention of being able to perform advanced operations. The vessel will use an A-frame and winch system in addition to an active heave compensated offshore crane, being more than 3000 metres in range on the main hook. The crane will have the ability to hold a capacity of 150 tonnes, with the vessel being able to assist with the demands within deep water segments.

With the ability to accommodate for 90 persons, the vessel will also include numerous offices and work stations for the management of complicated and complex projects.
