DPD is due to expand its network within Germany by investing 30 million Euros in a brand new sorting facility in Nagold, situated south of Stuttgart. The new location will cover an area of 57,000 square metres.

Speaking of the new facility, Thomas Ohnhaus - Regional Director South of DPD Germany - has said: “Nagold will be the location of one of our most important hubs in southern Germany. The capacity of this new location means that we will be ideally prepared for the increasing parcel volumes which DPD is expecting, in particular in shipments to private consignees.”

The new depot is expected to be an especially-efficient location; with the use of LED technology, energy used on lighting will be reduced significantly. DPD is due to employ up to 300 members of staff, with an operational start date for autumn 2016.
