UPS has recently announced plans to enhance the facilities of three of its key North American hubs. The enhanced facilities will include its Mira Loma location in California, its Hebron location in Kentucky and also its Calgary location in Alberta, Canada.

The improvements made to the company’s southern Californian location will include an additional area span of 309,000 square feet. The Mira Loma location acts as a UPS regional air hub and is situated within eight miles of four major freeways. Being 15 minutes from a transcontinental rail connection, this hub is especially relevant for its retail and manufacturing customers.

The company’s hub located in Hebron, Kentucky, is a key logistics facility, which has access of up to 62% of the US population. The hub itself is over a 151,000 square foot area, and it located near to the Greater Cincinnati Airport, as well as being within 600 miles of 30 major metropolitan markets.

UPS’ western Canada location will see an expansion of an additional 18,000 square feet. The new space at this hub will allow for one day transit times to most customers within the Saskatchewan-British Colombia corridor.

Stephen Hydrick, UPS Vice President of North American Distribution, has said: “These expansions are part of UPS’s continued commitment to meet the needs of our customers. As they launch new products and experience seasonal spikes in volume, they must have the flexibility to scale up and down. These investments give customers that flexibility, and it’s vital to their success.”
