UPS names John T. Stankey as newest member to Board of Directors

UPS has recently announced its Board of Directors has named John T. Stankey as a UPS company director as of immediate effect. Stankey, who is 51, will act on the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, with his appointment expanding across the UPS board to 14 directors. He is due to stand for election to a regular one year term at the UPS’s annual shareholders’ meeting scheduled for May 2015.

UPS Chairman and CEO, Scott Davis, has said: “John brings to the UPS Board a broad knowledge as a senior executive at one of the world’s largest technology companies. His extensive leadership experience in strategy, customer solutions, technology and operations will be highly valued as we continue to execute UPS global strategies for growth, innovation and exceptional customer service.”

Having previously held position of President and CEO of AT&T Business Solutions, Stankey has experience in holding great responsibility in providing to business customers worldwide. In addition to his corporate work, Stankey is a member of the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association and the Board of Visitors at the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.
