How do I send a Large Letter by courier?

Royal Mail sometimes categorises parcels that fit through your letterbox as Large Letters. You can send large letters using Transglobal, too—but the way we categorise our parcel types is simpler.

When getting a quote, just select Parcel/Large Letter. Whether or not it fits through a letterbox makes no difference—we just need the weight and dimensions and we’ll show you the relevant prices for a range of services. You can then choose your preferred courier.

Sending very light parcels? You can use up to two decimal places to account for smaller units (e.g. 0.75kg for 750g). You can also choose metric (kg/cm) or imperial (lb/inches). Spoilt for choice!

When should I choose Document?

When is a letter actually a letter? If you’re sending correspondence of no commercial value—for example, personal correspondence, invoices, contracts or brochures—choose Document as your shipment type instead.

Anything that has commercial value, including paper products such as calendars, counts as a parcel rather than a document. This applies even if you’re shipping gifts or personal effects.
