UPS has revealed its plans to open its newest contract logistics facility in Amphur Sungnoen, Nakhonratchasima Province. The new facility is to be dedicated to Seagate Technology, offering package delivery, freight services and technology solutions, which together, can illustrate the value of a fully functioning and integrated logistics solution.

The facility, located adjacent to Seagate’s Korat plant, is expected to double its existing storage capacity. It will be equipped with a UPS warehouse management system to ensure the production lines of Seagate operate efficiently and effectively. UPS is currently in management of logistic services on behalf of Seagate throughout Asia, Thailand, Singapore and China.

Edmund Lo, Managing Director of UPS Thailand, has commented: “This facility is fully operated by UPS and is a testament to our long-term commitment to supporting growth in the region. As a strategic business enabler, we will continue to leverage our global logistics expertise and network to help companies – like Seagate – trade in a global marketplace for business success.”

Vice President of Korat Operations for Seagate Technology in Thailand also added: “Flexibility is a key of hard disk drive business and the demand is changing rapidly. This facility will support our business activities by simplifying global trade movements and optimising supply chain efficiency to meet the need of our global customers.”
