DHL launches new LCL services for Japan and India
Yesterday, DHL Global Freight Forwarding launched its new LCL (less-than-container load) ocean freight service connecting major sea ports in Chennai, Japan with New Delhi, India. Not only will customers benefit from a faster transport of their goods with shipping times of up to 6 days, but there will also be no more need for reshipments.
Mark Slade, President and Representative Director, DHL Global Forwarding Japan, explained the decision to introduce the new LCL services as follows:
“We are expecting the India to Japan trade lane to grow, and we want to be able to meet our customer demands in this area. Our new direct Japan to India services will provide a more convenient and reliable logistics solution to our customers in the automobile, electronics and high-tech sectors, all which require strict timeliness.”
In order to expand its ocean freight network, DHL Global Forwarding is planning on adding additional destinations including Los Angeles, Chicago, Shanghai, Busan, Bangkok and Milan. In future, all customers will benefit from the 3.25 CO2 savings and the decreased damage potential as ocean freight shipping times decrease.
