Surcharges vary depending on which carrier service you have chosen. Please find details covering the surcharges for each of our carriers outlined below.

Please note that surcharges on domestic (UK) deliveries are subject to VAT.

What if multiple Additional Handling surcharges apply to my shipment? Only the highest surcharge will be applied. Please note that Oversize Charge will not be charged together with AHS-Dimensions but, if applicable, will always be charged in addition to AHS-Packaging or AHS-Weight.

Return to Shipper	This charge will apply for shipments that have not left the UK: If, as the sender, you request that the shipment is returned to you. If the shipment cannot be exported due to incorrect or incomplete paperwork, and after several attempts to contact you TNT is unable to complete the paperwork and has to return the shipment.	£15 if returned from a depot £25 if returned from a hub
Return Charge	A surcharge applied for all international returns in addition to the shipping cost.	£21 per consignment

What if multiple Additional Handling surcharges apply to my shipment? Only one surcharge will be applied based on this hierarchy: (1) Exceeds Dimensions; (2) Non-Conveyable; (3) AHS-Packaging, and (4) AHS-Weight. Please note that Non-Stackable always applies in addition to aforementioned surcharges, if shipment is in scope of the non-stackable definition.

Additional Handling	Charged for: Any article that is not packaged in a cardboard box or that is encased in an outside shipping container made of metal or wood. Any cylindrical item (e.g. barrel, drum, tyre) that is not fully encased in a corrugated cardboard shipping container. Any package with the longest side exceeding 100cm or second longest side exceeding 76cm Any package with an actual weight greater than 25kg for exports/domestic, or 32kg for imports. Each package in a shipment where the average weight per package is greater than 25kg for exports/domestic, or 32kg for imports, and the weight of each package has not been specified on the source document	£9.20 per package, plus fuel (see Fuel Surcharge) TEMPORARY PEAK SURCHARGE: £5.90 per package, plus fuel. Large Package Surcharge	Any package with a girth greater than 300cm, without exceeding maximum of 400cm. Subject to minimum billable weight of 40kg. Girth is calculated as (W+H) x2 + L.	£43.30 per package, plus fuel (see Fuel Surcharge) + billed at a minimum weight of 40kg. TEMPORARY PEAK SURCHARGE: £56.70 per package, plus fuel. This applies in addition to the base surcharge, from 1st October 2023 to 14th January 2024.
Over Maximum Limits	Any package with a girth greater than 400cm, or a length greater than 274cm, or a weight greater than 70kg. Girth is calculated as (W+H) x2 + L.	£240 per package, plus fuel (see Fuel Surcharge) TEMPORARY PEAK SURCHARGE: £239 per package, plus fuel. This applies in addition to the base surcharge.

Over 5 Tariff Lines	When a customs invoice has more than five tariff lines, a surcharge will be applied per additional tariff line.	£2.65
Same Day Collection	Applies for scheduling a collection to take place on the same day the service is booked. Does not apply to Access Point drop-offs.	£3.06
