In its third quarter, Deutsche Post DHL Group reported a 4.7% year-on-year revenue increase to €15.6 billion, with growth in all of its divisions, despite the uncertain global economic outlook.

The company boosted its operating profit (EBIT) from €376 million to €942 million.

Post & Parcel Germany, for domestic mail, achieved a revenue increase of 5.5% to €3.7 billion, while DHL Express revenue rose 8.7% to €4.2 billion. Global Forwarding, Freight managed 0.9% growth to €3.7 billion, Supply Chain 2.3% to €3.3 billion, and eCommerce Solutions 5.4% to €963 million.

The Group has once again attributed its success to a focus on its core business, by extending parcel infrastructure in Germany, and building more global and regional hubs, and renewing its global fleet—including putting two new Boeing 777 aircraft into service in the second quarter, and another two in the third.

“We had a very good third quarter,” said Frank Appel, the Group’s CEO. “All five divisions performed well despite the challenging economic environment. Thanks to our broad portfolio and the market-leading position of our divisions, we are growing even in uncertain times. For the fourth quarter, we anticipate a traditionally strong holiday season and we reaffirm our guidance for the full year 2019.”

The company also reaffirmed its projected earnings targets through to 2022.
